Welcome to SynergyFM. We have been broadcasting on 102.6fm, across Coventry & Warwickshire for almost 16 years and we have been ‘On-Air’ and ‘On-Line’ for the last five years.
The station, now relocated to its’ new home at Swanswell in the heart of the city centre, is Synergy co-ordinator Mick Wheeler’s brainchild and was designed to assess the broadcast skills of students on media courses at the college. So successful has this been that Mick is now supported by one of his former BTEC pupils, Mark Brown, who is now Course Organiser for the National Diploma in Radio Production in the School of Creative & Information Technologies.
The Ofsted Inspection of the college in May 2007, commented that
“Media learners’ radio programmes are of a professional standard” and that
“Learners in media run the college radio station to professional standards”.

This is reflected in the programmes which have been researched, developed and presented by students on the National Diploma in Radio course, and include specialist music shows covering a wide range of genres, including Hip-Hop, R’n’B, Jazz, Dance, Indie, Classical, as well as more contemporary chart-based shows.
